When I first met my husband, we started talking about which of us had the bigger family, both convinced that we had it made. Turns out, though, that we are both the oldest of six, with two brothers and three sisters, that our mothers are both the fifth of nine children and our fathers are one of six each (though mine is the oldest and his is the youngest). How could we not end up together?

Last May I noticed a small cherry tomatoe plant growing in the flower garden in the front of our house. I did not plant it and had no clue as to how it got there. However, I decided to let it grow, and by the end of August 1st, it had grown to the height of eight feet and produced several hundred tomatoes. Our grandson Oscar is sitting by the plant, and seems awed by it's height.

Your photos in print
Every Wednesday in the Post-Dispatch Metro section, look for samples of your photos in the newspaper. We'll look for a variety: Did you see breaking news? Are you at an interesting event? Or maybe you've captured a nice slice of everyday life. To be considered for publication, supply full caption information: when the photo was taken; where the photo was taken; names of people and places shown, with accurate spellings; and a description of what's happening.
